Yes! Tonight’s Concert is a Go!

Despite the unsettled weather, we will be hosting the “Simple Gifts” concert tonight. The open play-along will take place at the planned time of 5 PM, and the concert will happen at 6 PM. All performances will take place indoors at the Museum, in the Morrison Community Room.

“Simple Gifts” Concert Postponed Till 7/26

Due to the forecast calling for rain this evening, the “Simple Gifts” concert has been postponed one week to Sunday, July 26. The play-along still beings at 5 PM, and the concert begins at 6 PM.

2nd Annual Simple Gifts Festival

This year’s Simple Gifts Festival took place on Saturday, July 19, in conjunction with Alfred Festival Days. The concert opened with traditional songs from the Mark O’Connor Method books performed by string teachers and their students. The opener was followed by a variety of artists playing Shaker tunes, traditional songs, and even the Maine première of an original composition! FASM was on hand to provide refreshments and hospitality, and the museum and gift shop were open during the concert.
