There are two ways that a small museum like ours can increase its collections and keep the exhibits fresh: through donations of Shaker items by individuals, and by purchasing them.
Donating Shaker Items
If you have an item that you think is of Shaker manufacture, or which might have belonged to the Shakers at some point, our Museum Curator would be glad to help you. Remember, donations to the Museum are tax-deductible.
Acquisitions Fund
In the winter of 2016-2017, FASM established a separate special fund to purchase acquisitions for our collection. Donors’ contributions are tax-deductible and will be very welcomed, given the high prices that Shaker items command on the market.
