Wool Fabric Sale at FASM in April

On Saturday, April 2, 2016, from 10 am to 4 pm, there will be a sale of wool material at the Alfred Shaker Museum at 118 Shaker Hill Road in Alfred, ME.

2016 Speakers’ Series

Our second annual Speakers’ Series will commence in May. We have a very exciting lineup planned for this year, so keep checking the Speakers’ Series page for more information!

2016 FASM Student Essay Contest

The 6th annual FASM Student Essay Contest is underway! Students in Grades 7 & 8 and Grades 9 & 10 may submit essays on certain Shaker history-related topics. Prizes of $100 and $75 will be awarded (at the judges’ discretion) for the best essays in each division. Deadline is March 1, 2016 at 12 midnight. Felting Workshop Announced for October 2016

FASM announces a needle felting workshop with Beva Meagher on Saturday, October 29. The class details and costs are still TBD, but mark your calendar now!

First Workshop for 2016 Announced

The Friends of the Alfred Shaker Museum announce the first craft workshop for 2016. Basket Making with Martha Chessie will be offered on Saturday, May 14, 2016. Details and material cost are still TBD.

Museum Hours: 1 PM – 4 PM on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and by appointment.

Closing for the season on November 11.

Admission: Free. Donations are gratefully accepted.

We are dog-friendly. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome in our building.
