The Alfred Shaker Museum is putting out a request to all of our friends and neighbors within a 20-mile radius for items for our tag sale at “Apple Fest” on Saturday and Sunday, September 13 & 14, at the Museum on Shaker Hill. If you call my house or have my cell, a truck will be sent to pick up your items, or you can leave them at the museum. We will give you a tax donation form if requested… All monies raised go toward the upkeep and development of the Museum. Thank you very much!!!!

2nd Annual Simple Gifts Festival

This year’s Simple Gifts Festival took place on Saturday, July 19, in conjunction with Alfred Festival Days. The concert opened with traditional songs from the Mark O’Connor Method books performed by string teachers and their students. The opener was followed by a variety of artists playing Shaker tunes, traditional songs, and even the Maine première of an original composition! FASM was on hand to provide refreshments and hospitality, and the museum and gift shop were open during the concert.

Here are some photos…

July 31 is Almost Here!

Don’t forget! July 31 is the deadline to enter the Painted Chair Contest! The entry form and all you need to know are on the Painted Chair Contest Events page.
