Needle-Felting Workshop October 18

Time to learn a new craft technique! If you haven’t already signed up for FASM’s fall craft workshop, now’s the time!

Beva Meagher returns to the Alfred Shaker Museum to teach needle-felting techniques with wool. This year’s project is a festive turkey, just in time for the holidays!

Class Description

Students will be guided in the making of a needle felted 3-D “New England Gobbler” autumn turkey crafted from core and dyed wool.

Instruction will also include:

  • Use and purpose of various needles.
  • Techniques for making features.
  • Resources for felting materials.

Each student will receive a kit that includes:

  • 2 felting needles
  • felting foam mat
  • core wool
  • dyed roving wool
  • complete instructions

Cost for kit: $15. Class Fee: $10.

If you are interested in taking this class, you are required to pre-register. Space is limited to 12 students.

Additionally, handcrafted wooden felting multi-tools and pen tools will be demonstrated and available for sale. Specialty needles of differing gauges are also available for sale.

Last year’s Felted Owl class was fun and very popular! You can see photos of the students and their finished works of art here.
